Directions
The house is located just below the mountain village of Gaucin. There are three main roads into the village:

  • From the Southwest, ie Gibraltar, Algecieras.

Take N 340 (the coastal autovia) to northbound A 369 direction Jimena de la Frontera. After some 50 kms you enter Gaucin and opposite the petrol station turn right into the village.

Alternatively, take the coastal autovia N 340 eastbound direction Malaga, and then the toll road AP7 (peaje) to exit km 142 marked Casares/Gaucin and follow A 377 to Gaucin as indicated below.

  • From the Southeast, ie Malaga, Marbella.

Drive westwards along the coastal autovia N 340 and then the AP7 toll road (peaje) past Estapona to the next exit -km 142 marked Casares/Gaucin A 377. Take the A377 direction Casares and continue, past the Casares turn off, for some 25 km up hill and down dale eventually climbing steeply till you reach Gaucin arriving at a T junction. Turn right into the village.

  • From the north, ie Ronda, Madrid.

Leave Ronda on southbound A 369 marked Gaucin Algecieras. 34 kms of windy beautiful mountain road brings you to Gaucin. At petrol station turn left into
    village.

Gaucin to the house
Proceed into village leaving the builders yard and then the old convent on your right, follow the main winding road for about 500 meters. Some 50 meters before entering a small triangular square and just after the Hotel Rural on the right, take an acute turning to your right signed “Camino de Gibraltar”. (If you have a large car it might be wise to proceed into the small square and turn about on your tracks then taking the road 50 meters now on your left). Follow this concrete road downhill out of the town when it becomes a dirt road. Go on down
the steepish hill until the track levels out and rises slightly to the brow of a mound. Turn left through the yellow painted gateposts.

La Herradura guests should turn hard left after entering the gate posts. Follow the track below the tennis court and park above the house. Do not drive down the concreted S to the house entrance.
